(I left the rat race in Chicago nearly 40 years ago and never looked back!) The place is gorgeous, the residents are friendly, the pace is peaceful, the weather is fantastic, and the cost of living is low. And when you need a little city life, then Roanoke is just 15 miles away. (But don't think we're totally rural.... Even the lake area has national grocery stores, movie theatres, banks, doctors, dentists, and restaurants galore. In brief, this is a wonderful place to call "home".)
